Agricultural product exports in 6 months are almos

In less than 6 months, fruit and vegetable exports reached nearly 2.8 billion USD, an increase of more than 63% over the same period and nearly equal to last year's export turnover. This is preliminary statistics recently announced by the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association after extracting data from Vietnam Customs. In June alone, exports reached over 723 million USD, an increase of more than 79% over the same period in 2022, of which durian and dragon fruit contributed the most. Cumulatively for half a year, fruit and vegetable exports reached nearly 2.8 billion USD - accounting for 90% of last year's value (3.16 billion USD). Speaking to VnExpress - Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association - said that this is the year when agricultural export turnover has a sudden growth and can set a record ever. "There are 10 days left until the end of 6 months. If the statistics are complete, fruit and vegetable exports can reach 3 billion USD. This is the best news for Vietnamese fruits that are increasingly conquering international markets - especially China," Mr. Nguyen said. Among exported fruits, durian is the product with the strongest increase. In 5 months, durian fruit exports reached more than 503 million USD, more than 18 times higher than the same period last year (27.6 million USD). In the top 10 largest fruit and vegetable export markets of Vietnam, China leads with nearly 63.5% market share, an increase of more than 12.4% over the same period last year (turnover reached nearly 1.3 billion USD in first 5 months of the year). Next, the Korean, Japanese, and Dutch markets all grew well, only the US decreased by 12% over the same period.
